Is it free to post an ad on My Geenio?
We offer flexible options for every type of user. Individual users can take advantage of our free basic listing tiers to post standard classified ads. For businesses, high-volume traders, or premium listings, we offer competitive feature packages and subscription plans to boost your visibility across the platform.
Which payment methods do you accept for premium features?
We utilize the highly secure, globally trusted Stripe payment gateway. You can securely purchase one-time ad promotions or set up automated recurring business subscriptions using all major international and regional credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard).
Can I toggle the platform into Arabic?
Yes! My Geenio is built specifically for the local UAE community and fully supports bilingual navigation. You can effortlessly switch the entire platform interface between English and Arabic using the language switcher toggle option located in the header.
Account & Login Troubleshooting
How do I create a seller account?
Signing up is quick and easy. Click on the Sign In / Register button at the top of the page. To keep things simple and secure, we only require your Full Name, Email Address, and a secure password. Your registered email address will serve as your permanent, secure login ID.
Why can't I log in using my name or a username handle?
To ensure maximum data privacy and eliminate “forgotten username” issues, My Geenio strictly uses Email-Only Authentication. Please make sure you are inputting your full registered email address in the login field rather than a profile display name or nickname.
What is the difference between a Private Account and a Business Account?
Private Accounts: Ideal for individuals looking to sell personal items, their own vehicle, or one-off listings.
Business Accounts: Designed for dealerships, corporate entities, and professional traders. Business accounts unlock access to batch listing tools, business profile pages, advanced analytical insights, and higher listing volume limits via our subscription packages.
I forgot my password. How can I reset it?
Click on the Sign In / Register button, select Forgot Password, and enter your registered email address. We will instantly send a secure password reset link to your inbox. If you don’t receive the email within a few minutes, please check your spam or promotions folder.
Listing Management & Technical Fields
How long does my ad stay active on the site?
A standard ad remains active on My Geenio for 30 days. You will receive an automated email notification 5 days before your ad expires, giving you the option to renew it with a single click from your user dashboard.
How do I edit or delete an active listing?
Log into your account, go to your user dashboard, and click on My Ads. From there, you can edit the text, update the price, add new photos, or delete/mark the ad as “Sold” once a transaction is successfully completed.
Why does the listing form require highly specific technical specifications for vehicles?
To provide buyers with a premium searching experience, My Geenio uses advanced taxonomy filtering. When listing automotive, marine, commercial transport, or aviation assets, you will be prompted for specific fields like make, model, trim level, engine size, and hours/kilometers. Accurate data entry ensures your ad shows up when buyers use specific search filters.
Can I bump my ad to the top of the search results?
Yes. We offer premium add-ons such as Featured Listings and Top-of-Page Clean Bumps. These options push your listing back to the absolute top of the freshly searched grid view, significantly increasing views and inquiries.
Safety, Security & Compliance
Are my personal data and financial transactions secure?
Absolutely. Data integrity, consumer protection, and strict alignment with UAE digital e-commerce laws are our top priorities. All connections are fully encrypted via SSL, financial data is processed strictly through PCI-compliant Stripe vaults, and your private profile data is safeguarded under our strict privacy policies.
What items are prohibited from being listed on My Geenio?
In strict compliance with UAE regulatory authorities, consumer protection rules, and local laws, certain items cannot be advertised. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: illegal substances, alcohol, tobacco/vaping products, counterfeit or replica goods, weapons or ammunition, unauthorized financial/loan services, and items violating copyright or intellectual property laws. Any listing found violating these policies will be permanently removed immediately.
How do I report a suspicious listing or fraudulent user?
If you encounter a listing that seems inaccurate, suspicious, or violates our terms of use, simply click the Report Ad button visible directly on the listing page. Our moderation team reviews all flags immediately to ensure My Geenio remains a secure and trusted marketplace.
What precautions should I take when buying or selling?
We highly recommend the following best practices for safety:
Always meet in a public, well-lit place (such as a busy commercial area or police station parking lot) to inspect items or vehicles.
Inspect the item thoroughly and verify all legal ownership documentation (such as Mulkiya for UAE vehicles) before handing over any money.
Avoid wiring funds or sending advance deposits to unknown parties. Bank transfers or secure direct payments upon inspection are always safest.
